Meltscapes is the newest step in Guli Silberstein’s AI work journey, which began in 2020 and continues today. Having worked for over two decades in digital video art, the artist embraced emerging AI technologies to explore new forms previously unattainable. This trilogy — consisting of the artworks Blobbs, Heatmap, and Glowinight — continues his exploration of abstraction, as seen previously on Sedition in the 2022 collection In-Formations.

The Meltscapes trilogy unfolds three abstract worlds. The creative process begins by turning inward — seeking deep patterns of sensation, translating them into words, then into images, and finally into movement. It is thought and vision captured in digital form, drawn from and inspired by the human experience — those feelings that resist verbal expression — and synthesized in a collaborative process between human and machine.

New territories are revealed: technological, luminous, liquid. Through fresh, futuristic forms of matter, light, and colour, we rediscover ourselves — elevated into the sublime, losing ourselves in a mysterious experience that feels both familiar and elusive.
